The Director of Activation Management is a senior responsible for overseeing all activation operations, ensuring flawless design, planning and execution of experiential marketing programs, and driving operational excellence. This individual will lead strategic planning, workforce development, compliance, and cross-functional integration to deliver scalable, efficient, and high-quality activations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Workforce Planning: Own hiring strategy, workforce planning, and bench strength development beyond simple backfills. Build and maintain a talent pipeline to support growth and seasonal demand. Develop leadership capabilities within Supervisors and Account Managers.
- Lead key projects and build and manage a dedicated experiential activation team, including full-time staff and a network of contractors, vendors, and creative collaborators.
- Financial & Operational Management: Own department budget, including forecasting, variance management, and cost optimization. Implement scalable operating systems, standardization, and training programs to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Performance & Compliance: Define clear performance standards and enforce accountability with consequences. Ensure risk management, safety protocols, and DOT compliance across all activations.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate closely with Project Management, Production, Fleet, and Finance teams to ensure seamless execution and alignment with agency goals.
- Data & KPI Management: Define KPIs for activation performance, ensure data integrity, and establish escalation thresholds for operational issues. Provide actionable insights and reporting to leadership and clients.
- Strategic Planning: Deliver forward-looking recommendations for 6–12 months to anticipate market trends, resource needs, and operational improvements. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in activation processes.

- Collaboration: Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between team members, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Quality: Maintain high standards of quality in all products and services.
- Timeliness: Meet or exceed project deadlines consistently.
- Detail-Oriented: Show meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the production process.
- Client Satisfaction: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through quality work and timely delivery.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Operations, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in experiential marketing, activation management, or event operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale activations, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and DOT regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills. Always plays offense to anticipate needs and to prevent challenges before they occur.
